Cisco Voice Engineer - Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)

Voice Engineers assists and/or leads in the planning, forecasting, implementation and identification of resource requirements for IP telephony network systems of moderate to high-end complexity. They participate in network planning, architecture design and engineering. They integrate and schematically depict communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations

Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:

* Plan, forecast, implement and identify resource requirements for network systems

* Contribute to and participate in network planning, architecture design, implementation and engineering of solutions

* Integrate and schematically depict communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations

* Evaluate new products, perform network problem resolution and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications

Job Requirements:

* 5 or more years of experience in the design, installation and configuration of large scale voice communications hardware and software

* Demonstrated experience in the design and configuration of large-scale (10,000 node plus) IP voice networking infrastructures

* Demonstrated experience with networking protocols including: TCP/IP, SIP, H323, MGCP, SCCP, SONET, MPLS, Ethernet, IP PBX, PBX, Unified Communications, Voice Mail and Call Accounting and traffic engineering/shaping QoS in a fully converged network

* Demonstrated experience with a variety of telephone system applications including: NICE (Call Recording), Skype for Business (Call Conferencing), AVST CallXpress (Voicemail), VeraSMART (Call Accounting) and UM (Unified Messaging based on Microsoft Exchange 2010 or higher). These experiences must include installation, troubleshooting/debugging, vendor management and end-user application support.

* LEC and IXC connectivity (TDM and SIP) acquisition (i.e. circuit ordering) and operational experience. Act as a liaison between the telephone operating companies and interconnect companies in matters dealing with the company's telecommunications needs

* Experience implementing Voice over IP systems management tools and processes to support voice system capacity management, alert management and performance management

* PC Skills including Microsoft Office (Project, Visio, Excel and Word)

* Functional knowledge of Project Management Methodology

Business Specific Criteria (Preferred):

* 5+ years' experience providing enterprise level consulting services regarding voice systems, voice mail, call accounting and call center best practices

* Strong experience with Cisco Call Manager (CUCM) 6.X-9.X and Cisco UC product suite (UCCE, CVP, CER etc.)

* Experience with the following Voice services software products: Aceyus, Observer, Sniffer/Wireshark and Hammer

* Knowledge of and experience with IP telephony gateways, routers and switches, preferably Cisco, their configuration and network troubleshooting experience

* Knowledge of and experience with supporting remote workforces (Teleworker)

* Experience in the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of PBX, IP PBX, voicemail and call automation technologies

* Experience in the evaluation, implementation and maintenance of disparate voice processing systems

* Knowledge and experiences in protocol utilization, analysis and best practices

* Ability to organize and communicate highly technical voice system techniques, processes and best practices in a clear, concise and constructive manner

* Experience in evaluating telecommunications carrier performance, billing accuracy and contract requirements

* Experience in the evaluation, deployment and customization of network management applications and processes

* Preferred certifications include: CCDA, CCDP, CCIE, CCNA and CCVP
